We could not be more excited for our intern, Norris Novat! He and his co-authors (Sia Mwende, Helen Shita, and Grace Mbiaji) were recently awarded First Place in the 2022 HSIS Excellence in Safety Data Award at the ITE’s International Annual Meeting and Exhibition in New Orleans. HSIS Excellence is a contest to encourage students and practitioners to use HSIS data in transportation safety practices.
FHWA and ITE hosted the contest, and the award was presented by the Federal Highway Administration’s Carol Tan and ITE international president Beverly Kuhn.
Their paper is titled “Predicting drivers’ injury occurrence in vehicle crashes occurring in horizontal curve and grade combination segments.” ITE published the article in their August issue. You can read and share the paper here: https://lnkd.in/gDpZFA9B This is a must-read!
