South Russell Village Stream Restored to Healthy Form

CT is excited to see the final progress of this Manorbrook Stream Restoration project over the next few weeks. Plantings were installed in late Fall of 2022 and lay dormant through the winter, where seeds will begin to emerge shortly as the growing season begins. The Manorbrook Stream area will eventually turn back into forested wetlands as it becomes well-established over the next few decades. Until then, live stakes (shrub plantings) and a seeding mixture of grasses and sedges will flourish as bank and floodplain stabilization and provide essential native wildlife habitat. READ MORE
