McMinnville Downtown Improvements

McMinnville, TN

Downtown McMinnville revitalization stands the test of time.

Downtown McMinnville, Tennessee had become deteriorated with numerous under-utilized buildings. Residents and business owners wanted a more attractive, welcoming, and economically viable downtown district reflecting the county’s rich heritage and quality of life.

CT prepared the master plan, site design, and construction drawings for comprehensive street corridor capital improvements and enhancements along the seven-block downtown Main Street and town square.

CT was also actively involved in financial planning and helped McMinnville secure almost $1M in TDOT and ARC grants for the project.

Improvements included storm drainage and water system upgrades, burying overhead wires, new sidewalks highlighted with brick and stamped concrete, new decorative-style traffic signal and streetlight poles, reorganized parking, and restoration of the town square plaza and fountain features.

An alley linking Main Street to the nearby Farmers Market was improved with a new curvilinear walkway, decorative arches, furnishings, lighting, and landscaping. New trees and plantings highlighted the city’s commercial heritage as the landscape nursery capital of the world.
