CT conducted an inventory and count in October 2019, tabulating available spaces.
Downtown Lima Inc. and the City of Lima were making great strides, improving and revitalizing downtown Lima, creating a vibrant destination that attracted businesses and visitors alike. To continue the momentum and understand their resources, Downtown Lima Inc. retained CT to conduct a parking study to better understand available parking infrastructure and usage in the central business district.
CT conducted an inventory and count in October 2019, tabulating available spaces. We used aerial images to document parking usage and turnover. In early 2020, we held stakeholder meetings, and an online survey was offered to area businesses to gather additional data. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic caused a halt in additional outreach and parking counts due to unreliable parking data from public health orders affecting area businesses.
CT provided recommendations to Downtown Lima Inc., such as that streetscape improvements be carried out and signage upgraded to help in wayfinding. Additional recommendations included encouraging shared parking, better management of available spaces, and establishing valet services.
